DW-SH420F kjeldahl digestion system adopts globally advanced high-temperature infrared tradiation heating technology and microprocessor control platform, boasts accurate temperature control and quick temperature rise. It has two kinds of temperature rise mode: linear and curve temperature rise mode, and offers 20 digestion programs for control of temperature rise curves.

The DW-SH420F is a digestion system. A separate Kjeldahl distillation unit or automatic Kjeldahl analyzer is required for the subsequent distillation and nitrogen determination stages.

The brochure states that it can be used for pretreatment before microwave digestion and for acid removal after digestion.

Avoid rapid heating at the initial stage. Use gradient heating program and add glass boiling stones. Pre-carbonize high-fat and high-carbohydrate samples at low temperature to prevent splashing.

Uneven temperature is usually caused by carbon accumulation in tube holes, aging heating elements or drifted temperature sensors. Clean inner tube residues regularly, recalibrate sensors and keep the insulation lid fully covered during operation. Replace damaged heating modules if necessary.

Excessively long high-temperature digestion leads to slight nitrogen loss, which makes the final crude protein test result lower than the true value. After the liquid turns clear light blue-green, maintain constant temperature for 30 minutes only.

The crystals are sulfate precipitates formed after concentrated sulfuric acid cooling. Pour out waste liquid while hot and dilute with a little pure water before cooling. Stubborn black carbon residues can be re-digested with dilute sulfuric acid then soaked for cleaning.

It is mandatory to match an exhaust absorption device filled with water or dilute alkali. Massive white SO₃ smoke will escape without absorption, corroding furnace components and irritating human respiratory tracts. Full laboratory ventilation is also required.
