Thermostatic Degasser
A real-time constant temperature degasser is a specialized laboratory instrument used to efficiently remove dissolved gases from dissolution media (such as water, hydrochloric acid solutions, and buffered saline solutions). It is crucial in fields such as drug dissolution testing and HPLC analysis. Drawell’s real-time constant temperature degasser is widely used in pharmaceutical research, food and beverage, petrochemicals, environmental monitoring, power generation, academia, and laboratories.

How Does a Thermostatic Degasser Work?

- Vacuum Degassing: A vacuum pump creates negative pressure (high vacuum) within the system, reducing the solubility of gases in the liquid and encouraging the escape of dissolved gases (such as O₂and CO₂).
- Membrane Separation: A hollow fiber degassing membrane is used. The dissolution medium flows through the membrane under pressure. The micropores on the membrane surface allow only gas molecules to pass through, preventing the passage of liquid. The vacuum suction on the membrane’s outer surface efficiently separates and extracts the gas.
- Heating and Constant Temperature: An integrated heating system preheats the medium and maintains it at a set temperature. This not only improves degassing efficiency but also allows the medium to be directly fed into the dissolution apparatus at the desired temperature, reducing experimental waiting time.
