The DW-K1100F is an automatic Kjeldahl analyzer that integrates distillation, titration, calculation, and data treatment based on the classic Kjeldahl nitrogen determination method. Designed for enhanced performance, this specific model features an upgraded ARM operating system for broader method editing, adopts a 300ml digestion tube, and uniquely enables highly efficient, simultaneous titration during the distillation process.

FAQ

Samples with high levels of volatile nitrogen, azides, nitrates, or organic halogens cannot undergo standard direct digestion. High-temperature digestion of such substances will lead to toxic gas generation, nitrogen loss, and even explosion hazards. Special pre-treatment is required instead of direct digestion on the instrument.

1. Rinse distillation pipelines and digestion tubes while they are still hot to remove residual sulfate crystals.

2. Empty and dilute the alkali pipeline to prevent blockages caused by strong alkali crystallization.

3. Regularly remove limescale from the steam generator.

4. Drain acid from titration pipelines to avoid corrosion of valves.

5. Wipe the instrument exterior and store glass accessories in a well-ventilated, dry place.

The instrument measures total nitrogen content, which is then multiplied by a protein conversion factor to calculate crude protein. Non-protein nitrogen-containing substances such as nucleic acids, alkaloids and free amino acids in the sample are counted together in the result. Therefore, the obtained value refers to crude protein rather than the genuine pure protein content.

It is most likely ammonia leakage caused by poor sealing of pipelines or digestion tubes. Immediately turn off heating steam, open windows for ventilation, and check whether all sealing rings, condensation tubes and connecting hoses are loose or damaged. Replace aged sealing parts and re-tighten all pipelines before resuming the test.

Yes. Caked sulfate crystals can trap residual nitrogen inside, resulting in incomplete ammonia release after alkali addition. After cooling, add a small amount of pure water and shake thoroughly to dissolve all crystals before transferring the sample to the instrument for distillation.
