The DW-SOX606 Automatic Soxhlet Extractor uses gravimetric Soxhlet extraction for reliable fat determination and soluble organic compound extraction. It offers five extraction modes, fast and uniform metal-bath heating, water temperature and flow monitoring, and built-in ether leak detection for safer operation. It is suitable for food, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, soil, sludge, detergents, and environmental samples.

Instruments come in different configurations, commonly 4-position, 6-position, 12-position and 24-position models. A full procedure including soaking, reflux and drying & weighing generally takes 4–8 hours. Fully automatic models greatly cut down manual waiting time.

Recover residual solvent after each test, clean extraction cups and thimbles. Wipe heating blocks and condensing pipes regularly to avoid grease buildup. Empty the solvent tank for long-term storage and keep the unit ventilated and dry. Replace sealing rings periodically to prevent leakage.

No. The Soxhlet method measures crude fat, which includes triglycerides as well as fat-soluble vitamins, waxes, pigments and resins. It is only a standard reference index instead of pure fat content.

Common causes include insufficient cooling water flow, low heating temperature, blocked pipelines and air leakage. Solutions: increase cooling water flow, raise heating power moderately, clean grease inside pipelines and replace worn sealing gaskets.

Standard consumables: fat-free filter paper, extraction cups and sealing rings. Filter paper is replaced per test; sealing rings are replaced every 3–6 months. Intact glass extraction cups can be reused long-term.
